The 27th-30th of May and the 1st of June, open days took place in the field experimental station of Horta (Ravenna, Italy) where Innovar Bread wheat VCU core trial is located. Different breeders and company representatives participated to the meeting where Professor Marco Maccaferri from UNIBO explained the Innovar project, stressing how different trials were conceived, the short/long term objective and different partners involved in the project. Phenomics activities were also presented stressing the importance of connecting data from drone images, phenotypic protocols and genotyping to identify genomic regions regulating biomass, agronomic traits and disease resistance in general.
A strong interest on the project was received from different company breeders, paving the way to future collaborations with Innovar.
